About Us
JG Pears is a fourth-generation family business that grew from a livestock farm near Penistone into one of the largest names in the UK's animal by-products sector. The Group has continued to expand, running a modern fleet of vehicles that moves material between sites and customers nationwide.
We're looking for an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join the team at our Twycross site, covering Class 1 work with the flexibility to support Class 2 duties as needed.
Salary: £16.52 per hour, plus enhanced weekend pay and driver bonuses available
Location: Twycross, CV9 3LP
Working pattern: Days only, averaging 50 hours per week, with start times between 4am and 6am

About the Role
This is a days-only role, averaging 50 hours a week with start times between 4am and 6am. It's mostly Class 1 driving, with occasional Class 2 cover when needed.
What You'll Be Doing
- Collecting and delivering animal by-products nationwide
- Completing all legally required documentation relating to the movement of products
- Adhering to drivers' hours rules and regulations, including working time regulations
- Using tachographs and carrying out daily vehicle checks
What You'll Bring
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence, together with a current Driver CPC card
- Experience in the movement of animal by-products advantageous
- ADR qualification desirable, but not essential
- A flexible approach and willingness to undertake both Class 1 and Class 2 duties as required
