About the School
As a voluntary-aided school of over 2,000 students, including a thriving Sixth Form of over 550 students, JFS is one of the top schools in the country for both attainment and progress. Recently named the 'Sunday Times State Faith School of the Year 2025', our students excel academically with well over 50 percent of all grades a 7+ at GCSE and nearly 60% of all grades an A or A at A-level. We are proud of our academic outcomes which are a testament to the hard work of everyone involved, but we also recognise that grades are just one part of what an exceptional education should offer. We wish for our school to be a place where our young people grow into excellent adults, prepared for everything life might have in store for them. We want them to leave with open hearts, kind to those around them and open to all the love that the world has to offer.
About the Role
We are currently seeking a Geography specialist to join our school—someone who is an exceptional classroom practitioner, a passionate advocate for the subject, and who has the drive to help develop our students' creative and technical capabilities. We understand that exceptional teachers come with all sorts of experience and so are open to NQTs to more experienced teachers seeking a Lead Practitioner position. We are looking for someone who has a clear vision of what a superb classroom looks like and is ready to take on new challenges. We are committed to building an enthusiastic, caring and talented staff body and we believe that nothing is more important than the people we work with. You will be joining a well-resourced department with excellent facilities and we are always excited about the input of people who join us. More broadly, our school is structured to allow teachers to focus on teaching above everything else. Staff are not expected to run detentions; meetings are kept to a minimum, and duties are extremely limited. Our classes are calm and purposeful, and our students are motivated to succeed. We are proud to offer strong pastoral care, led by a dedicated team of 17 full-time professionals, ensuring that each student receives the support they need to thrive. JFS is a school where relationships matter, where warmth and humour flourish within a culture of high expectations and mutual respect.
