We are looking for an ambitious Account Manager to join the London office of an international PR Agency with offices in London, New York and Los Angeles. You will be working at the intersection of science, innovation and climate. You will play a central role in delivering campaigns for pioneering organisations tackling some of the world's most pressing challenges, from clean energy, food security and advanced materials, to emerging science and climate tech.
You will already be working at AM level with at least a year's experience at this level - we are looking for a safe pair of hands who can focus on managing their own portfolio of clients and junior team members. A science or engineering degree is strongly preferred, and client experience needs to be in climate tech or science-led sectors. Candidates coming from pharma/B2B health PR who are keen to broaden into wider science and innovation could also be a great fit. This is also a media relations-focused role, so strong journalist relationships and a proven track record of securing coverage are essential. We're not looking for a strategist or digital profile; this needs to be a PR operator.
What you'll do:
- Lead day-to-day delivery across a portfolio of accounts, acting as a trusted partner to clients and a driving force within your team.
- Leading media strategy and sell-ins across national, business, tech and trade media.
- Turning complex science and technology into clear, engaging narratives.
- Developing thought leadership platforms, reports and insight-led campaigns.
- Managing client relationships and ensuring consistently high standards of delivery.
- Supporting and mentoring junior team members.
- Driving integrated campaigns across earned, owned and social channels.
- Tracking performance and demonstrating the impact of our work.
What we're most looking for:
- Someone who devours the media and loves media relations, with a deep contact book.
- Deep scientific curiosity, with the intellectual confidence to work with scientists and tech entrepreneurs.
- Proven ability to manage a portfolio of clients.
- Organised: a forward-planner, a lover of deadlines who can see around corners to stay on the front foot.
- Someone with excellent attention to detail, especially in written work.
- Agency-side experience (min. 3-4 years) working with science-focused or climate-tech focused clients.
- New Business: excited to be directly involved in pitching for new clients.
Personality:
- Motivated by delivering meaningful work for meaningful brands.
- Solutions focused: presents alternatives in the face of challenges.
- Driven by the role that communication can play in driving real business results and social change.
- Enjoys working and collaborating with a team in person and contributing to agency culture.
- Ambitious to build a career and industry reputation.
- Values personal and professional accountability and owns the tasks they've been given.
- Understands the importance of giving and receiving constructive feedback.
They are an equal opportunity employer and only work with clients and suppliers who share the same values and approach to professionalism, and diversity and inclusion that we do. As an agency, we are on a journey to do more as a business to act as a force for good.
Core hours: Hybrid, up to 3 days in-office per week, including every Thursday all-office day.
Holiday: 25 days annual holiday entitlement.
Health Insurance: Vitality comprehensive medical insurance, including:
- 50% subsidised gym membership.
- Optical cover including £500 for new eyewear (glasses, contact lenses, sunglasses) per year.
- Mental health cover including unlimited around-the-clock support and in-person therapy.
