Responsibilities
- Responsible for the safety of the patients under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
- Must be able to work in situations with isolation precautions.
- Provide frequent checks on patients that have a Patient Watch Order.
- Provide direction to patients to ensure that they do not fall or wander off.
- Record and document patient behaviour.
- Must be able to travel with patients when needed.
- Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
- Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behaviour.
Qualifications
- High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
- The ability to stay mobile according to the patients' movement including the ability to stand for periods of time.
- Must be able to work in situations with isolation precautions.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required prior to performing patient observation.
- Previous work experience in a hospital setting preferred.
- Experience as a Patient Care Technician, Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, EMT, Nurse Aide Training, or current Nursing/Psychology student are all preferred.
Compensation
Minimum rate of Β£17.12 hourly.
