Responsibilities

• Performs assigned duties under the direction of the Registered Professional Nurse. Demonstrates positive behavior and the ability to implement a plan of care.
• Accurately completes assignments within scheduled time periods, with appropriate supervisory counseling and adaptability to changes in workload or patient assignments.
• Communicates pertinent patient information and potential problems to the registered nurse throughout the shift, before breaks, during transfer and shift report.
• Cooperates with reassignments in the interest of patient care, including willingness to float and work overtime as needed.
• Provides safe, direct patient care and demonstrates knowledge and competency in completing assigned treatments and procedures according to established standards and policies.
• Exhibits calm behavior and utilizes appropriate judgment while working in a team approach during emergency situations.
• Participates in the improvement processes of quality patient care, taking initiative to improve job performance and participating in unit/department PI activities.
• Ensures effective and safe patient outcomes through practice, judgment and critical actions that reflect professional ethics and institutional policies.
• Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
• Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• Must meet the NJ requirements under the Surgical Technologist law.
• BLS is required.
• Six months OR experience strongly preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Tech Program and a Certified Surgical Tech.
• Ideal candidate will possess a minimum of one year surgical scrub experience.
• National certification preferred.
• Self-starter who works well independently.
• Time-management and prioritizing skills a must.
• Ability to multi-task.

Compensation

Starting at $28.93 hourly. HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency for our team members.

Labor Market Data: Compensation is benchmarked against market data to ensure competitiveness. Experience, Education and Certifications, Skills, Geographic Location, Internal Equity, Budget and Grant Funding influence final offer. Additional incentives, bonuses, commissions, shift differentials may apply. Full-time and part-time (20+ hours/week) positions receive a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, paid leave, tuition reimbursement and retirement benefits.
