The Ambulatory Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing prescriptions and monitoring medication therapy in accordance with all applicable regulations and standards.
Responsibilities- Complies with all state and federal regulations and Medical Center policies and procedures relating to drug dispensing, including appropriate handling of drug products, adherence to security procedures, and completion of necessary documentation. This includes appropriate control and dispensing of controlled dangerous substances and investigational drugs.
- Reviews and dispenses prescriptions and clarifies any and all potential problems with prescriber.
- Monitors patient drug therapy regimens for clinical appropriateness, including, but not limited to issues such as: allergies, drugādrug interactions, drugāfood interactions, potential adverse reactions, appropriate dosing, and compliance.
- Performs assigned unit and pharmacy inspections to assure proper maintenance and storage of medications, supplies, including emergency drug supplies, controlled substances, and hazardous drugs.
- Oversees activities of ancillary personnel (Pharmacy Technicians, Liaisons, Navigators, Clerks and Couriers).
- Employs principles of safe medication practice as dictated by departmental and organizational policies and procedures.
- Lifts a minimum of 10 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 40 lbs. and stands a minimum of 4 hours a day.
- Identifies the needs of the patient population served and modifies and delivers care that is specific to those needs (i.e., age, culture, language, hearing and/or visually impaired, etc.). This process includes communicating with the patient, parent and/or primary caregiver(s) at their level (developmental/age, educational, literacy, etc.).
- Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
- Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
- Graduate of an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy, or equivalent, with a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
- A minimum of one year of pharmacy experience.
- Registered Pharmacist License.
Minimum rate of $70.22 Hourly. HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency for our team members. The posted rate of pay in this job posting is a reasonable goodāfaith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role at the time of posting in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Act and does not reflect the full value of our marketācompetitive total rewards package.
