Yard Service Assistant
Jewson Bridgwater, England, United Kingdom
Location – East Quay, Bridgwater, TA6 4AE
Hours – 7.30 – 5.00 Monday to Friday and every 2nd Saturday morning 8-12
Overview
Jewson, a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe, is on the hunt for a Yard Service Assistant who is passionate about great service and helping customers with their projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome customers to the branch and take an active interest in their projects
- Know our product lines to offer advice and help to customers, making the most of all interactions in line with Jewson Values
- Prepare customer orders, load and unload customer and supplier vehicles using a Forklift Truck (training provided) to minimise manual handling
- Check incoming deliveries and report missing or damaged products
- Maintain stock levels in both the shop and yard areas, carrying out regular stock counts
- Keep the branch clean and tidy to make a great first impression
- Make Health & Safety a priority and demonstrate safe work practices

Required Skills And Experience
- Previous industry experience preferred but not essential
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work
- Strong communication skills
- Confident working both indoors and outdoors
- A health and safety focus
- Comfortable in a role involving extensive manual handling of bulky items
