Jewson, a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe, is on the hunt for a Yard Assistant to join the team in our Glasgow Timber branch on Maxwell Road, Glasgow who is as passionate about great service as we are! Hours: Monday-Friday 7:30am-5pm, every 3rd Saturday 8am-12pm Location: Jewson, 129 Maxwell Rd, Glasgow G41 1SN Key Responsibilities: This role has a strong focus on stock management, health and safety and customer. We're a timber specialist branch and aim to provide the best service possible to our customers and our Yard Assistants are often the first point of contact for our customers. Welcome customers to the branch and take an active interest in their projects Get to know our product lines so you can offer advice and help to customers, making the most of all customer interactions Help to pick and prepare customer orders, load and unload customer and supplier vehicles (in-house forklift training provided) Check incoming deliveries and report missing or damaged products Maintain stock levels in all yard/warehouse areas, carrying out regular stock counts Keep the branch looking clean and tidy, to make a great first impression on our customers Make Health & Safety a priority and demonstrate how you can keep yourself and others safe at work What's in it for you?
