Jewson, a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe, is on the hunt for a Trade Counter Sales Assistant to join the team in our North Shields branch who is as passionate about great service as we are.

Hours: 7.30am–5pm Monday to Friday and every other Saturday morning 8-12
Location: Jewson, Tyne Tunnel Trading Estate, Narvik Way, North Shields NE29 7XJ
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome customers to the branch and take an active interest in their projects
- Get to know our product lines and services in order to make the most of all customer interactions
- Develop great relationships with new and existing customers, both face to face and over the phone
- Use our in-house systems to process customer orders, organise delivery times, and keep customers updated throughout their journey
- Dealing with lapsed accounts and generating sales with new and existing customers
- Keep the branch looking clean and tidy, launch new promotions and maintain stock levels, carrying out regular stock counts
- Potential to assist in the yard/warehouse when needed - forklift training will be provided
- Work with colleagues to suggest opportunities for improvement
- Make Health & Safety a priority and demonstrate how you can keep yourself and others safe at work

Required Skills and Experience:
- Industry experience would be beneficial, but not essential
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise work accordingly
- Experience in a busy customer facing role with strong communication skills
- IT literate
