Do you have a passion for working with people? Are you based in the Totnes area? Jewson is a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe, and we are looking for an Assistant Branch Manager who is as passionate about great service as we are.

Hours: 7:00 am – 4:30 pm or 7:30 am – 5:00 pm Monday to Friday and every other Saturday morning 8 am – 12 pm.

Location: Jewson, Babbage Rd, Totnes, TQ9 5JA

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as first‑line support to the Branch Manager and lead the team to deliver success.
  • Develop a strong knowledge of product lines and services to maximise customer interactions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers, both face‑to‑face and over the phone, to provide proactive advice and solutions.
  • Understand the local market and support sales‑growth plans.
  • Use in‑house systems to process orders, organise delivery times, and keep customers updated throughout their journey.
  • Maintain stock levels and perform regular stock counts.
  • Prioritise Health & Safety and demonstrate how to keep yourself and others safe at work.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven background in sales with a strong track record of exceeding targets.
  • Excellent communication skills and a passion for customer service.
  • Adept at building, developing, and maintaining relationships.
  • Industry experience or knowledge of building materials is advantageous.
