Jewson Darlington, England, United Kingdom

Tool Hire Manager to the Tool Hire Department in our Darlington branch. Based in the Darlington area with a focus on delivering great service in a fast paced environment.

Hours and Location

Hours: 7 30am 5pm Monday to Friday and every 2nd Saturday 8am 12pm

Location: Jewson Valley Street North Darlington DL1 1LF

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivery and collection of hire tools and equipment using a 3 5t vehicle (often with trailer attachment), guiding customers on how to operate them on site
  • Carry out basic maintenance and cleaning of tool hire equipment in the branch workshop
  • Develop relationships with new and existing customers, understand their needs and provide advice and solutions to deliver the best experience
  • Use in house systems to process customer hires at the hire desk, organise delivery and collection of equipment, and keep customers updated throughout their journey
  • Work according to Health and Safety compliance

Required Skills and Experience

  • UK manual driving licence held for 1 year minimum, no more than 6 points
  • Previous industry experience could be beneficial, particularly tool or plant hire
  • Comfortable in a role involving multi drop deliveries
  • Experience in a customer facing role with a positive and flexible attitude
