Jewson, a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe, is on the hunt for a Tool Hire Assistant to the Tool Hire Department in our Walton-on-Thames branch, who is as passionate about great service as we are!

Please note: a driving license is essential for this role.

Hours: 07:30am–17:00pm Monday to Friday and every 2nd Saturday 08:00am-12:00pm

Location: Jewson, 2 Terrace Rd, Walton-on-Thames KT12 2ST

Key Responsibilities:

  • This is a varied role covering delivery and collection of the equipment we hire, customer service in branch at the hire desk and basic cleaning and maintenance of the hire equipment.
  • Delivery and collection of hire tools and equipment using a 3.5t vehicle (often with trailer attachment), talking customers through how to operate them on site.
  • Carry out basic maintenance and cleaning of our tool hire equipment in the branch workshop.
  • Develop great relationships with new and existing customers, understanding their needs, and providing advice and solutions so that you can deliver the best experience possible.
  • Use our in-house systems to process customer hires at the hire desk, organise delivery and collection of equipment, keeping customers updated throughout their journey.
  • Working according to Health & Safety compliance.

Required Skills And Experience:

  • UK manual driving license, held for 1 year minimum, no more than 6 points.
  • Previous industry experience would be beneficial (tool/plant hire).
  • Comfortable in a role involving multi drop deliveries.
  • Experience in a customer facing role with a positive and flexible attitude.
