Jewson, part of Stark UK, believes that our greatest asset is our people. We’re a vibrant community driven by decency, passion, and pride. We are looking for a Yard/Office Sales Advisor to join the friendly, supportive team at our branch in Gillingham, Kent (ME8 0QQ).

Work Hours
Full‑time role – Monday to Friday, 7:30‑17:00, and every other Saturday, 08:00‑12:00.

Responsibilities

  • Identify new business opportunities and proactively pursue new customer accounts through strategic prospecting.
  • Maintain and grow existing customer relationships by understanding their needs, upselling and cross‑selling solutions.
  • Ensure new customers are onboarded and activated, maximising spend potential within the first 13 weeks.
  • Drive increased profitability by optimising margins and increasing the share of wallet from each customer.
  • Manage the entire sales process from lead generation to closing deals, ensuring accurate forecasting and pipeline management.
  • Conduct regular customer visits, product demonstrations and presentations to build rapport and drive sales.
  • Provide accurate and timely reports on sales activities, customer feedback and market insights.
  • Recognise every customer, ascertain their needs and provide quick and efficient service.
  • Ask open questions to build strong relationships and understand our customers' current and future requirements.
  • Maintain excellent standards across the yard, counter and shop floor.
  • Operate machinery safely and carry out key operational activities such as off‑loading, picking, packing, restocking and loading vehicles.
  • Support business initiatives to increase sales, margin and service as required.
  • Continually develop your knowledge of core and specialist product lines to meet customer needs.
  • Loading and unloading vehicles both manually and with a forklift (training will be provided).
