We have an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse Assistant/Driver at our new Grimsby branch! Jewson Partnership Solutions (JPS), specialists in providing solutions and building materials for our customers in the Public Sector such as Housing Associations and Local Authorities, is on the hunt for a Warehouse Operative who's as passionate about great service as we are. The role involves regular manual handling and driving duties and therefore requires a full UK driving licence with entitlement to drive a 3.5-tonne van, along with the ability to carry out physical tasks safely. Working Hours – 7.00 – 5.00 Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities- Welcome customers to the branch and take an active interest in their projects.
- Get to know our product lines so you can offer advice and help to customers, making the most of all customer interactions in line with our Jewson Values.
- Help to prepare customer orders, load and unload customer and supplier vehicles using a Forklift Truck to minimise manual handling (training will be provided).
- Check incoming deliveries and report missing or damaged products.
- Maintain stock levels in both the shop and yard areas, carrying out regular stock counts.
- Keep the branch looking clean and tidy, to make a great first impression on our customers.
- Make Health & Safety a priority and demonstrate how you can keep yourself and others safe at work.
- On occasions drive our van to assist with customer deliveries.
- Retirement Savings Plan (Pension) – with Legal & General Life Assurance - From your first day of employment with us you are automatically covered for a lump-sum death in service benefit of 2 x your basic salary. However, if you join the STARK Building Materials Retirement Savings Plan (including if you are automatically enrolled) and contribute a minimum of 4% of your Pensionable Earnings, your lump sum death in service benefit will be increased to 4 x your Pensionable Earnings.
