Jewson, a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe, is on the hunt for a Transport Planner for our new distribution hub based in Glasgow, who is as passionate about great service as we are! Working Hours: These will operate on a shift rotation of 6am-4pm Mon-Fri and 7am-5pm Mon-Fri, and every 2nd Sat 8am-12pm. Location: Craighall Road, Glasgow, G4 9TP.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate transport operations alongside the on-site Transport Manager to meet customer demands.
- Communicate effectively and facilitate good working relationships with drivers, suppliers, and customers.
- Utilise Excel and Word to create transport schedules and reports and manage associated administrative tasks.
- Manage logistics, including route planning and vehicle allocation.
- Drive continuous improvement in transport processes.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
