Are you an experienced External Field Sales Executive from a Building Materials supply business? Would you welcome the opportunity to cover the North Yorkshire area? Jewson are recruiting for an External Field Sales Executive; a car licence is essential for this role.

As this role has a strong focus on customer service, we are looking for someone who loves to build relationships with Customers both face to face and over the phone.

Role Purpose

To assist the local North Yorkshire branches in the acquisition of new accounts, development of existing accounts, and to ensure that any lapsed or dormant accounts are re-activated; working with all functions to develop.

Duties:

  • Find and develop new business via cold calling, lead follow-ups, and general customer interaction.
  • Support customers with the on-boarding of their new account, ensuring that they start and continue to spend.
  • Work with the branch teams on agreeing and setting new terms of trade for all accounts.
  • Target dormant and lapsed accounts to reactivate them.
  • Develop trust relationships with a portfolio of customers to maintain and improve profitability.
  • Simplify the customer experience by ensuring close management of all owned accounts.
  • Acquire a thorough understanding of customer needs and requirements, expanding relationships by continuously proposing solutions that meet the customer’s needs.
  • Work with all functions and branch teams to ensure that all opportunities are leveraged.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Previous B2B Field sales experience ideally gained in a building material supply firm.
  • Negotiation and close deals quickly.
  • Driving Licence is essential.
  • Resilience and working at pace.
  • Self-motivated and goal orientated.
  • Great customer focus and desire to do your absolute best to get the best outcomes.
  • Ability to build rapport and develop a good understanding of your portfolio to secure future projects.
  • Proactive.
  • Well organised and prioritise.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Efficiently use IT equipment and have a strong telephone presence.
