The predicted salary is between 13 - 16 £ per hour.

Volunteer at our Tuesday night Jubilee Club. Your responsibilities include:

  • Assist the session Activity Leader with setting up tables prior to members arriving and clearing away once the session has finished.
  • Encourage members to participate fully in the activity and show enthusiasm for the topic/theme of the session.
  • Make teas and coffees for members at break time and keep the venue’s kitchen clean.
  • Other duties as directed by the Charity or your supervisor.

Experience & personal attributes:

  • Experience of or an interest in working among people with a learning disability.
  • The ability to create a constructive relationship with people with a learning disability and to motivate them.
  • A willingness to accept change and be innovative in working with people with a learning disability.
  • Good organisational and communication skills.
  • Friendly, empathetic, approachable, and inclusive.

Hertsmere Mencap is an independent, self‑financing local charity supporting people with a learning disability in Borehamwood, Potters Bar, Bushey, Elstree, Radlett and beyond. We have transformed the lives of hundreds of people in our community, leading them out of isolation and helping them make friends, learn new skills and receive support and advice. We run a daily member activities programme, a weekly social club, a children’s holiday play scheme and a drop‑in for members and families where people can socialise, have a drink and receive support and advice. We employ four part‑time staff, assisted by sessional workers, and have a strong team of dedicated volunteers.
