Sunridge Court is looking for a volunteer to lead relaxed and engaging Yiddish language and conversation sessions for residents. Many of our residents have a strong cultural and emotional connection to Yiddish and have expressed interest in reconnecting with the language through informal group sessions including conversation, reading, storytelling and shared memories. Some residents have also stated that they would enjoy learning the language themselves.
Responsibilities
- Lead informal Yiddish conversation sessions.
- Encourage residents to participate and share memories.
- Support social interaction and group engagement.
- Read short texts, poems or songs where appropriate.
- Create a warm, welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
- Work alongside the Activities Team when required.
Availability
Morning, Afternoon, Evening – Monday to Saturday. We are happy to be flexible on location and/or times if required.
