We are seeking an experienced SEO & Content Optimisation Specialist (Volunteer) to improve our website’s search engine performance and expand our online reach. This role focuses on enhancing SEO capabilities across the website and social networks through strategic and technical optimisation.

You will work with our volunteer web developer to implement SEO improvements at page level, ensuring all updates align with the existing website design and structure. You will also collaborate with content creators to strengthen the charity’s digital presence across multiple platforms.

Your Responsibilities

  • Analyse and improve our website’s performance using tools such as Google Analytics, Yoast SEO (or similar), and other WordPress SEO plugins.
  • Implement on-page SEO improvements, including metadata, keyword optimisation, internal linking, and content structure.
  • Collaborate with the web developer to enhance SEO functionality and capabilities across the website.
  • Recommend and implement SEO best practices.
  • Conduct keyword research to support content optimisation and improved search visibility.
  • Review and optimise existing pages and posts to improve rankings and user engagement.
  • Collaborate with the charity’s content creators to improve SEO and digital marketing for content across the website, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
  • Ensure all website and digital content is optimised for search engines while maintaining clarity, quality, and brand tone.
  • Monitor SEO performance and provide insights and recommendations for ongoing improvement.
  • Maintain consistency in SEO standards across all website content and digital channels.

Location: A flexible, remote volunteer role that can fit around other commitments.

Age limit: Volunteers of any age.

Hours per session: Between 1 and 2 hours.

Availability: On-going.
