A warm welcome can make all the difference. As a Meet & Greet Volunteer on our Inpatient Unit, you’ll be one of the first friendly faces that families, visitors and professionals see when they arrive — helping them feel reassured, supported and cared for at what can be a very emotional time.
Responsibilities
- Welcoming visitors and relatives to the unit and letting them in via the buzzer system
- Checking who visitors are here to see and liaising with the nursing team
- Helping ensure sign‑in procedures are followed
- Keeping the welcome area calm, tidy and welcoming
- Supporting visitors with kindness and empathy
- Managing deliveries, donations and welcoming ambulance crews
- Helping with small ad‑hoc tasks such as answering the phone
Location: Peace Hospice, Peace Drive, Watford
Hours per session: Between 3 and 4 hours
Availability: Flexible — any morning, afternoon or evening shift on Monday to Sunday.
