Head Room Café offers a warm and welcoming space where people can connect, take part in activities and access support within the community. As a Front of House Volunteer, you will help provide excellent customer service, serve food and drinks, and contribute to a safe, inclusive and supportive café environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a warm, friendly and inclusive experience for customers, visitors and members of the Head Room community.
  • Serve food and drinks, take orders and process payments while delivering excellent customer service.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming café environment, including clearing tables when needed.
  • Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers to support the smooth running of the café, activities and events.
  • Follow health and safety, food hygiene, safeguarding and confidentiality requirements, and raise concerns appropriately.

What we need

  • Regular availability agreed with the café team, ideally for around 12 months.
  • Three‑hour long sessions, 12 – 3.
  • We are looking for support on Monday and Sunday, but potentially other days of the week too.

  • Friendly, approachable and committed to excellent customer service.
  • Confident and respectful communicator who enjoys engaging with a wide range of people.
  • Reliable, flexible and able to work well as part of a team.
  • Able to remain calm and positive in a busy café environment.
