Registering as a volunteer can open up a whole new world of volunteering opportunities. We provide food, toiletries and household goods to 30 food banks in North London. We are currently looking for drivers to collect and deliver donations to local food banks. Drivers will be using their own car or we have a Food Bank Aid van available. Our volunteers are the reason that Food Bank Aid is able to feed over 16,000 people per week.
What training we will provide for you: A compulsory training induction will be held before the first shift to cover health & safety, volunteering tasks & opportunities.
What you will get out of volunteering for us: A fabulous opportunity to work in a place with good vibes and become part of the Food Bank Aid family. The hub is a great place to socialise, we have tea, coffee and cakes during every shift and music to accompany the volunteers. You will have a fulfilling and fun experience at Food Bank Aid!
In-Person Age limit: Volunteers aged 18 or over
Hours per session: 3 hours
Availability: Flexible OR On-going
Time slots: Morning, Afternoon, Evening
Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. We are happy to be flexible on location and/or times if required.
Tasks include:
- Place products into crates ready to be sent out to food banks – do not over-fill as they need to be stacked
- Unwrap and separate multi packs
- Split large bags of goods into smaller bags for distribution
- Replenish the crates with new products arriving at the hub
Shift Times:
- 1st shift: 8am - 9am
- 2nd shift: 9am - 12pm
- 3rd shift: 12pm - 3pm
- 4th shift: 3pm - 5:30pm
We are flexible with shifts, welcoming and appreciating any help in the hub!
