The aim of Jewish visiting is to ensure that anyone Jewish who is in hospital can, if they so wish, be visited either by a Jewish chaplain or a visitor who is sensitive to their Jewish identity and related needs. Chaplains and visitors may also support relatives of the patients.

This is an opportunity to support people through difficult periods of life, in a holistic way – supporting their emotional, social and spiritual needs and their religious practice preferences. Chaplains also help staff provide the best care they can by making them aware of the specific needs of Jewish patients through information on Jewish religious and cultural practices, and may also provide pastoral support to Jewish hospital staff.

As part of JVisit you will also need to apply to be a volunteer for the Hospital/Trust and go through their selection and training procedures, which we will support you with.

We are happy to be flexible on location and/or times if required.
