The predicted salary is between 500 - 1500 £ per month.
Volunteers are crucial to the success of the drop-in. Roles include:
- Assisting guests in the marketplace to find essential items.
- Signposting guests to external organisations at the information desk.
- Providing help with legal forms and other advice.
- Befriending and socialising with guests.
- Cooking and serving hot meals; preparing refreshments.
- Running activities in the children’s area (arts, crafts, sports).
- Assisting in the homework club.
- Sourcing and bringing ingredients for meals (with reimbursement provided).
- Encouraging donations of much-needed items from the community.
Shift 1: 10.00 - 12.15 - mainly setting up the centre
Shift 2: 12.00 - 3.00 - supporting our guests and clearing up
You are welcome to do one or both shifts.
The Drop-in Centre for Asylum Seekers will aim to run on the last Sunday of every month - unless it clashes with a Jewish or National holiday. Whether you choose to volunteer once or commit to volunteering throughout the year, your help is always valued!
