The successful candidate will be required to assist with the procurement of contractors, liaising with external consultants, authorising payments to contractors and contract administration. Leading projects from inception to conclusion and will require supervising a number of projects, liaising with architects, site foremen, procurement team, subcontractors, clients and office staff.
Organising and overseeing key sub-contractors and overseeing other third-party contractors. Co-ordinating materials, labour and site set-up. Ensuring all projects are adhering to strict health and safety regulations, site protection. Delivering projects from inception to completion. Check design documents and liaising with architects, surveyors and other engineers. Dealing with utility companies including applying for new connections. Maintain regular communication and attend meetings with clients and their representatives to inform them of progress on the project, i.e. stakeholder management.
Experience and skills Required:
- Team player and great communicator - excellent verbal and electronic communication skills is a must and is key to the role.
- Surveying.
- Good knowledge of the construction industry.
- Commercially savvy and a confident decision maker.
- Exceptional organisational and methodical problem-solving skills.
- Driving License.
- Reliable.
- Previous experience in a similar setting an advantage but not a must.
- Good command of English (written and verbal).
- Good IT Skills.
Based in Manchester; however, this role will involve a combination of office-based work and travel to various local and national sites.
