The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

We are looking for a full time Second Travelling Head Groom to join our successful Wiltshire horse racing operation.

Responsibilities:

  • Travelling horses to the races and sales
  • Competent and confident in saddling horses and overseeing all aspects of their care at the racecourse
  • Full liaison with Owners at the races in the absence of the Trainer
  • Liaising with the Trainer remotely, if not in attendance at the races
  • Opportunities to travel abroad with overseas runners
  • Assisting in the organisation and maintenance of the racing tack room (colours, tack, staff, clothing etc)
  • Maintenance of horseboxes, cleaning after racing and reporting any faults to the office
  • Riding out and general yard duties when not racing

Requirements:

  • Applicants must be over 25 years old due to insurance and have a full, clean HGV Class 2 driving license
  • Applicants should be experienced and confident in travelling horses, well organised and able to work as part of a team
