As our new Lead Business Analyst - Data, you will be the heartbeat of our Data Domain analysis capability. In this pivotal hands-on leader role, you will be responsible for the coordination of business analysis efforts within your domain, ensuring the right people are working on the right initiatives. You will balance hands-on strategic analysis with the line management and development of your team, ensuring we continue to deliver actionable insights to the business.

Partner closely with Product Managers, Business Stakeholders, Architects, and Engineering Managers to break down complex portfolio epics and strategic initiatives into smaller, iterative value drops.
- Coordinate the allocation of Business Analysis resources across Pre-Delivery and Delivery to ensure analysis momentum.
- Retain hands-on responsibility for the elicitation and analysis of critical or strategic initiatives, setting the standard for the team.
- Work hand in hand with Agile Delivery Leads, ensuring impediments, risks and dependencies are understood and managed effectively.
- Act as the driving force for AI and agentic tool adoption within the BA workflow, automating routine documentation, user story creation, and requirement mapping.
- Decouple delivery demand from headcount growth by discovering and implementing clever, AI-augmented workflows that maximise squad throughput.
- Champion the use of advanced Business Process Modelling and Data Modelling (e.g. Entity Relationship Diagrams) within the team, ensuring complex workflows and data structures are accurately visualised and governed.
- Take responsibility for the Line Management of Business Analysts within your domain, executing regular 1-to-1s, conducting performance reviews, and building targeted development plans.
- Drive the continuous professional development of your team, ensuring knowledge is shared across data domains and that analysts are upskilled in the latest modern data pipelines and tools.
- Lead the peer review process alongside Senior BAs to ensure all requirements, business rules, and models meet our high-quality standards before development begins.
- Work alongside the Business Analyst Manager to identify talent, conduct interviews, and onboard new members into the team.
- Partner with counterparts in Application Development to ensure analysis is aligned, dependencies are managed, and the end-to-end data journey is understood.
- Champion the translation of complex business concepts into robust functional and non-functional requirements, partnering continuously with Architects and Engineering Managers to shape technical design and ensure absolute clarity of business value.
- Orchestrate the strategic allocation of Business Analysts across Agile Release Trains and value streams, ensuring teams are sustainably resourced to maintain continuous delivery and alignment with enterprise agile cadences.
Extensive experience as a Business Analyst with a strong record of delivering value in complex Data Domains. Proven experience in Line Management, with a passion for developing people, conducting performance reviews, and building high-performing teams. Expert-level understanding of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and how product, architecture, and engineering interface within an Agile Release Train (ART). Experience working with Engineering Managers and Delivery Leads to triage and allocate work in a fast-paced Agile environment. Strong experience operating within complex, data-centric enterprise environments (Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Data Science, or Analytics Engineering). Conceptual and practical familiarity with modern cloud data platforms (Snowflake, AWS) and data pipelines (dbt, ETL/ELT workflows). Active curiosity and comfort leveraging Generative AI tools to streamline administrative and analytical outputs. Expert-level skills in Requirements Engineering, Business Process Modelling (e.g. UML Activity Diagrams, BPMN), and Data Modelling (e.g. Exceptional storytelling and translation skills—capable of refining complex data engineering issues for business executives and business needs for technical squads. The ability to see the 'bigger picture,' understanding how data flows across different delivery domains, data domains and managing dependencies accordingly.
