We're looking to add an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Data Scientist to our Jet2Data Science team. Reporting to our Lead Data Scientists, our new Senior Data Scientist will be key to the Jet2Data Science Team. We're placing Data and Analytics at the heart of the business, and this Senior Data Scientist role is an exciting opportunity to work for an organisation with the objective of being truly data insight driven.

We work together to really drive forward a ‘Customer First’ ethos, creating unforgettable package holidays and flights. You'll take responsibility for the delivery of key data science initiatives capable of realising significant value, combining insights gained from multiple large data sources with the contextual understanding and experience of our colleagues across the business.
You'll be joining a large and established team of Data Science professionals based across our UK and India bases, who are using Data Science to understand, automate and optimise key business processes. You'll work right across the broad range of our customer journey: from informing our marketing strategy, pricing our products, understanding our customers and their needs before, during and post their experience, and improving our airline and holiday operations.
Working within a pod of Data Scientists under management of a Lead Data Scientist, you will execute the application of machine learning and statistical modelling tools suited to the identified initiative. Throughout the projects you'll ensure you have an awareness of and are adhering to the appropriate regulatory and internal policy requirements.
You'll be highly numerate with a statistical background, with strong expertise in SQL and Python being desirable. We're utilising the Data Science tools in the AWS Stack, so a good understanding of Sagemaker, Bedrock, and AWS Cloud Components would be highly desirable. Snowflake is our Central Data Platform, of which some experience would be desirable.
Demonstrable experience in delivering data science initiatives from concept into production would be highly desirable. You'll be skilled in gathering data from multiple sources, in multiple formats, and cleansing and enriching that data. You'll have an appreciation of the importance of data governance, and of how to assess and enhance the quality of our data.
Given the pace of change in new technologies and techniques, you'll show commitment to keeping your own knowledge up to date through self-learning, and be supported with opportunities to complete relevant courses, attend industry events, and obtain technical certifications. You'll also be given the opportunity to pass on your expertise to and coach our Data Scientists and be supported to develop the people management skills required for that next step in your career progression.
