We’re looking to hire an Aircraft Performance Engineer to join our Flight Operations Technical Team at Leeds Bradford Airport. This is a hybrid working role with the scope to work flexibly. Reporting to the Aircraft Performance Manager, the Aircraft Performance Engineer will take responsibility for providing technical expertise on all aspects of aircraft performance to the Jet2.com operation, in accordance with regulatory and company requirements. Working as One Team, this role delivers a vital contribution to the continued safe and efficient operation of the Jet2.com fleet.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop aircraft performance data, policies and operational procedures for Airbus and Boeing fleets, supporting flight crew tools for take‑off/landing assessments and maintaining internal performance‑engineering systems.
  • Monitor, assess and process aeronautical information for the airport/obstacle database, audit supplier‑provided performance data, and contribute to performance group policies and procedures.
  • Conduct aerodrome and route analyses for scheduled and charter operations, and design, analyse and validate engine‑inoperative take‑off and landing procedures with stakeholders to optimise performance and flyability.
  • Lead high‑speed aircraft performance analysis, including Aircraft Performance Monitoring evaluations, and provide technical subject‑matter expertise on all aircraft performance matters to internal and external stakeholders.

What you’ll have:

  • Hold a degree in Aeronautical Engineering (or related field) with experience in a technical aviation role, strong aircraft performance knowledge, and solid understanding of the regulatory environment.
  • Demonstrate excellent IT literacy, communication skills, effective workload planning and organisation, and show adaptability, proactivity, integrity and a results‑focused approach.
  • Ideally bring experience from an operator, manufacturer or supplier performance role, with previous Airbus single‑aisle and/or Boeing 737 knowledge, plus completion of relevant Airbus/Boeing performance engineering and software courses.
  • Be proficient in Airbus and/or Boeing operational performance software, with strong programming capability including MATLAB and Microsoft Excel macros.
