We have some opportunities for skilled Heavy Plant & Vehicle Technicians to join our Ground Support Equipment (GSE) team at Manchester Airport. Reporting to the GSE Team Leader, you will be responsible for the effective maintenance, servicing, and repair of ground support and engineering equipment that support our flight programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Performing scheduled servicing, inspections, and repairs on Ground Support Equipment vehicles, and plant machinery to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
- Timely completion of maintenance tasks while maintaining high standards of work and accurate records in line with company and industry regulations.
- Coordinate with Jet2.com colleagues and external contractors to ensure all equipment meets regulatory and operational standards, including compliance with CAP642 and LOLER.
- Provide rapid response to equipment breakdowns across Jet2.com stations as required, sometimes at short notice, to support uninterrupted operational performance.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and operational excellence.
This role is available on a permanent basis, working on a 4 on, 4 off day shift basis (6am - 6pm). Whilst your primary base is Manchester, flexibility to travel to other UK bases is required.
What Skills & Experience Will You Need
- Demonstrable experience in electromechanical maintenance and repair of ground support equipment, light commercial vehicles, and plant machinery.
- A strong understanding of health and safety practices and regulatory requirements.
- A valid UK driving licence is essential; additional vehicle or equipment licences are advantageous.
- Proven ability to work independently, showing initiative and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organisational and planning abilities, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Minimum Level 3 City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent with qualifications in EV maintenance and repair desirable.
