As a member of our Ground Operations Team at East Midlands Airport, our Baggage Handlers play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of the luggage of our all-important customers.
What will you do in the role?
- Be Present: Undertake the accurate loading and allocation of baggage from the Bag Hall to the correct aircraft and unload inbound items for return flights onto Baggage Carousels.
- Take Responsibility: Drive our airside vehicles and transport baggage items to our aircraft with safety in mind and in line with Service Level Agreements.
- Create Memories: Handle our customers’ luggage with care and support our operation so customers depart on time.
- Work as One Team: Support colleagues during disruption and delays.
What will you need?
- Physically demanding role involving heavy lifting (manual handling training provided).
- Understand the importance of safety and accountability.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces when loading luggage into aircraft.
- Stay calm and focused under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
- Adaptable, self‑motivated and enjoy working as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence and medical clearance.

- £13.19 per hour plus a £3.30 per hour allowance for unsociable hours (11:00 pm – 04:59 am).
