We’re looking for an experienced Civils Manager to lead our site teams delivering utility infrastructure across the UK. You’ll take ownership of our civils gangs, keeping projects safe, on programme and on budget, from trial holes through to final reinstatement.
You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day management of multiple civils gangs carrying out trial holes, streetworks builds, trenching works and duct laying for power and fibre networks. Alongside leading the teams on site, you’ll estimate material requirements, order materials and plant, and make sure every job has what it needs before the gang arrives.

- Overseeing trial holes, excavations, duct laying, chamber builds and reinstatements for power (LV/HV) and fibre networks

- Ensuring all works comply with NRSWA, the Specification for the Reinstatement of Openings in Highways (SROH) and client standards such as DNO/IDNO and Client specifications
- Working with the permitting team on Street Manager notices, traffic management and local authority requirements
- Promoting a strong safety culture, including safe digging practices in line with HSG47, CAT & Genny use, and reviewing RAMS
- Carrying out site inspections, quality checks and toolbox talks
- Managing subcontractors and supplier relationships
- Tracking progress, productivity and costs, and reporting to senior management and clients
- Supporting the collection of as-built records, photos and completion paperwork for timely sign-off and invoicing
- Proven experience managing civils teams within utilities, streetworks or telecoms
- Solid understanding of power and fibre duct networks and associated civils works
- Confidence reading drawings and producing accurate material take-offs
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to juggle several sites and priorities
- A hands-on, solutions-focused leader
Qualifications and Tickets
- CSCS card at the appropriate level
