We are seeking a skilled Lining Engineer to join our growing team in Darlington!

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Communicate effectively across the lining team to ensure smooth coordination.
  • Review Health & Safety documentation to confirm works are safe to proceed.
  • Carry out dynamic (point‑of‑work) risk assessments for all tasks.
  • Manage site resources, allocate tasks, and take ownership of decisions.
  • Complete job sheets daily for each task.
  • Record and submit vehicle defect sheets for every vehicle each day.
  • Hand in CCTV footage daily for each job.
  • Ensure all required materials are available at the start of each shift.
  • Conduct monthly vehicle tool checks and verify all equipment on the vehicle.
  • Liaise with the Lining Supervisor and Project Manager to maximise productivity and minimise risk.
  • Identify the on‑site customer contact and maintain clear communication throughout the job.

Qualifications About you:

  • Proven experience working as a Lining Engineer.
  • Health and Safety Awareness training completed.
  • Hold your Manual Handling, Asbestos, Abrasive Wheels, First Aid and Working at Heights training completed – with current certification.
  • Class 2 Driving Licence (desirable but not essential).
  • Internal Leader course (undertaken during employment).
  • A willingness to learn and a positive attitude are essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Full clean UK driving licence is essential.
  • Right to work in the UK is essential.
