Jesus College is seeking a professional, calm and highly organised Lodge Supervisor to join our Lodge team. This is a pivotal front-of-house role at the heart of College life, combining leadership, customer service, security, welfare support and operational oversight. As Lodge Supervisor, you will help ensure the College remains a safe, secure and welcoming environment for students, Fellows, staff, conference delegates and visitors. You will deputise for the Lodge Manager when required, provide day-to-day supervision of Lodge operations, and contribute to the smooth and professional running of the College.

Main purposes of job is to:

  • Provide a front-of-house administration, safety and security service for Jesus College.
  • Act as department liaison in the absence of the Lodge Manager, ensuring shift cover, attending meetings and day-to-day supervision of the lodge operation.
  • To be ‘on call’ on occasions throughout the academic year, at times to be mutually agreed with the Lodge Manager.
  • To support the Lodge Manager to ensure a continuously safe and secure environment - highlighting any potential risk and impact on the College to the Lodge Manager.
  • In the absence of the Lodge Manager, to ensure a continuous, safe, and secure environment, highlighting any potential risk or impact on the college or Lodge Manager.
  • Pursue the delivery of service excellence with passion.
  • Be positive and resilient to challenging situations.

Key Responsibilities: Please refer to the Job Description. Working hours are 07.00 am to 19.00 pm with a 30 minute unpaid break.

Essential Criteria:

  • Ability to make quick, confident decisions under pressure.
  • Ability to maintain composure when dealing with difficult situations or guests, keeping interactions calm and professional and when dealing with emergencies.
  • Experience of minute taking.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including report writing and presentation.
  • Competent user of IT and digital platforms.
  • Passionate about creating a high standard of service and ensuring a memorable guest experience.
