Jesus College Cambridge are seeking to appoint a Health, Safety and Compliance Manager to act as the College’s competent person for health, safety and compliance. The role holder will be the key point of contact on all Health, Safety and Compliance matters. They will advise, support, work with and provide authority for meeting the College’s obligations with the help of College Head of Departments and Managers, as well as establishing, monitoring and maintaining systems that promote and encourage a culture of compliance.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring the College’s Health and Safety Policy and Management Plan are implemented consistently in all areas.
- Develop, maintain and champion a positive safety culture.
- Provide practical and specialist advice to College members and event organisers on the implementing of health, safety and compliance measures.
- Advise on student led events (including the May Ball).
- Undertake reviews of working practices and use of safety equipment.
- Liaison with external bodies including the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and the Environment Agency (EA).
