We are seeking a Salaried GP to join Jesmond Health Partnership for 6 sessions/week (negotiable). This is an opportunity to join a supportive, high-performing GP training practice delivering care to over 27,000 patients across 4 sites in Newcastle. Our established digital-first model, AskMyGP, streamlined workflows & strong MDT help create a sustainable & rewarding working environment. You will work alongside GP partners, SGPs, ANPs, NAs, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, social prescribers & skilled administrators. Main duties of the job
- Deliver safe, effective and patient-centred General Practice services.
- Manage a varied caseload via AskMyGP, telephone and face-to-face consultations.
- Assess, diagnose and manage acute and long-term conditions.
- Undertake clinical administration including results, correspondence, referrals and prescriptions.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure patients are seen by the most appropriate clinician.
- Participate in the practice on-call rota, proportionate to sessions worked.
- Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement and practice development.

Job responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide a high standard of clinical care to patients registered with the practice.
- Undertake face-to-face, telephone, and online consultations as required.
- Carry out home visits where clinically appropriate.
- Assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients presenting with acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Prescribe safely and appropriately in accordance with local and national guidance and the practice formulary.
- Refer patients appropriately to secondary care and other healthcare professionals in line with local pathways and protocols.
- Maintain accurate, contemporaneous, and comprehensive clinical records using SystmOne and any other Practice's clinical system.
- Participate in doctor on-call responsibilities and other clinical rotas as agreed.
- Provide health promotion and preventative care advice to patients.
- Manage long-term conditions in line with evidence-based practice and national clinical guidelines.
- Participate in safeguarding processes for children and vulnerable adults in accordance with practice and statutory requirements.
- Support the delivery of enhanced services and other commissioned services where appropriate.
- Contribute to the achievement of Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) and other quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in clinical audit, significant event analysis, and quality improvement activities.
- Work in accordance with GMC and all relevant professional standards.
Administrative and Professional Responsibilities
- Complete clinical administration in a timely manner, including referrals, prescriptions, medical reports, and correspondence.
- Ensure accurate clinical coding and appropriate use of electronic patient records.
- Work in accordance with practice policies, protocols, and organisational procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with information governance and data protection requirements.
- Participate in practice meetings, clinical meetings, educational sessions, and multidisciplinary team discussions.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Maintain mandatory training and continuing professional development requirements.
- Participate in appraisal and revalidation processes.
- Support teaching, training, and supervision activities where appropriate.
