We are looking for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our Finance team. This role leads statutory and detailed financial reporting. It ensures the accuracy and integrity of the balance sheet. It also maintains strong financial governance across the organisation. As an expert, you will support senior collaborators, coordinate sophisticated accounting matters, and play a central role in audit, compliance, and ongoing improvement. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the compilation and evaluation of statutory financial statements under IFRS or UK GAAP.
  • Provide guidance on complex accounting matters, new standards, and technical judgments.
  • Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies, regulatory requirements, and external deadlines.
  • Review financial disclosures and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Responsible for key areas of month‑end and year‑end close, including sophisticated journals, accruals, and provisions.
  • Own the review process related to the organisation's financial records, ensuring reconciliations are complete, accurate, and timely.
  • Review work from the wider Finance team, providing challenge, guidance, and technical oversight.
  • Lead or support the preparation and review of tax submissions, including corporate tax, VAT, GST, or equivalents.
  • Liaise with external tax and professional advisors where required.
  • Ensure regulatory filings are submitted accurately and on time.
  • Act as a senior finance contact, providing clear advice and technical insight to internal stakeholders.
  • Mentor and support junior and part qualified accountants.
  • Work closely with Finance Managers, Management Accountants, and senior leadership to align statutory and management reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance controls, reporting quality, and process efficiency.
  • Support system improvements, accounting policy updates, and automation initiatives.
  • Contribute to finance transformation and ongoing programmes focused on improvement.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • 5‑7 years' experience in financial accounting.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Commercial business awareness and the ability to influence and challenge senior partners.
  • Experience in regulated, group, or sophisticated reporting environments (desirable).
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Proactive, ownership focused, and committed to continuous progress.
  • Professional, approachable, and respectful.
  • Collaborative, standout colleague with strong social skills.
  • Insightful, self aware, and able to build strong partner relationships.
