Summary:
An opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager within SSE North Scotland to lead small teams installing electrical power distribution and transmission systems from 11kV to 132kV. The role focuses on delivering safe, profitable, high-quality, and fit-for-purpose networks, while promoting the company\’s positive image.
The Project Manager will oversee their own projects and supervise staff managing multiple electrical network projects concurrently. These projects may include installation of power system components such as cables, switchgear, transformers, and associated equipment in substations up to 132KV.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading multiple project managers and teams, reporting to the Operations Manager, to build confidence and promote business growth.
- Providing leadership, guidance, and support to project teams and customers.
- Ensuring adherence to all safety procedures, undertaking site supervision when required, and managing customer-appointed contractors.
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously, overseeing project tasks, and developing team skills.
- Resource planning and control, including materials, equipment, and labor.
- Maintaining good commercial awareness and completing valuations.
- Ensuring safety and maintenance of company property, conducting PAT or calibration tests.
- Producing as-built records, test results, updated drawings, and reports.
Qualifications and experience:
- HNC/Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Operational knowledge of electrical power distribution systems.
- Site safety passport and experience working on CDM sites.
- SSSTS or SMSTS certification is desirable.
- Authorization to receive and cancel PTW from SSE DNO or equivalent.
