Water Recycling is at the heart of our operations. The key services that we are responsible for are delivered by our in-house, highly skilled workforce. We collect and treat the water that customers have used, returning it to the environment via rivers and coastal outlets. Our network includes 76,000 kilometres of sewers which feed over 1,000 water recycling centres. What will you be doing?

As a multi-skilled maintenance engineer (Gas), you will be providing support and completing both planned and reactive maintenance across our Water Recycling assets; specifically, gas and biogas assets. You will improve the performance and efficiency of operational assets and activities across all sites. You will provide technical support to the team and will undertake projects across the region, including, but not limited to, optimisation, installation, and capital intervention.

Duties will include:

  • Planned and Reactive Maintenace for Gas Assets (gas holders, boosters, flare stacks etc).

  • Providing both technical and specialist support to the site operations teams.

  • Helping enhance the performance of the Gas assets.

  • Electrical fault finding.

  • Ensuring all relevant Health and Safety policies and procedures are adhered to.

  • Assisting with the reduction of operating costs.

  • Documenting all PPM activities and planning rectifications of faults found.

What does it take to be a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Gas)?

  • A full apprenticeship or a NVQ Level 2/3 in either a mechanical or electrical discipline.

  • Formal gas qualifications are required (GasSafe / I-Gas).

  • CompEx qualified would be advantageous.

  • Knowledge of Advanced Digestion would be advantageous.

  • Experience of planned preventative maintenance.

  • Operational and maintenance experience in Gas assets.

  • LTHW boiler / heating experience would be beneficial.

  • Proven experience with fault finding and problem solving.

  • Strong awareness of Health and Safety practices.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Competent user of IT

  • Flexible approach to work- with the potential for out of hours management standby.

  • Full driving licence is essential for this role.
