As part of our journey toward net-zero and beyond, we are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable individual to help deliver our sustainability strategy and net-zero ambitions. This role offers the opportunity to make a real impact, working collaboratively across the business, with internal and external stakeholders and the community to deliver on our ambitious net-zero plans and promote a culture of sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of Jersey Electricity's Sustainability Strategy, focusing on our 2035 goals.
- Provide sustainability expertise and guidance to teams including Operations, Capital Projects, Procurement, and Finance.
- Work closely with stakeholders across the business to contribute to sustainability reporting, including our annual report.
- Partner with contractors and suppliers to encourage sustainable practices.
- Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, company policies, and industry best practice.
- Support reporting, data analysis, and continuous improvement of sustainability performance alongside our sustainability data analyst.
- Influence and inspire colleagues to embed sustainability across the business through initiatives and training.
- Deliver training and awareness sessions to help build a shared understanding and commitment to sustainability.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Degree (or equivalent) in sustainability, or related field.
- Proven experience collaborating across teams and influencing stakeholders in a constructive, collaborative manner.
- Knowledge of ISO 14001, SBTi, and carbon reduction frameworks (Scope 1, 2, 3).
- Prior experience analysing carbon or environmental data.
- Experience in delivering sustainability projects, biodiversity, or environmental compliance.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to adapt messaging for different audiences.
- Desirable: Lead Auditor ISO 14001 qualification is desirable but not essential.
- Experience in biodiversity, land management, or community-based sustainability projects.
- Familiarity with broader sustainability metrics.
