We are currently offering an opportunity within our Service Delivery team as a Mechanical Engineering Apprentice, based at La Collette Power Station. In this role, you will support the delivery of a technical service, learning to mechanically maintain, repair, and troubleshoot generation plant. As your skills develop, you will also be trained to operate plant equipment when required. On successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will be able to contribute confidently and effectively to the operation of our generation assets, helping to ensure plant availability, reliability, and efficiency, with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with the Engineering team in maintaining assets across the whole of Energy Division as instructed by the Mechanical Engineering team leader.
- Ensure appropriate compliance with HS&E, Energy division Safety Rules, company procedures, and Industry best practice.
- Lead small works and projects. When necessary, supervise general operative staff.
- Work and liaise with appointed contractors when required on day-to-day basis, ensuring compliance to JE standards.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- A natural aptitude for mechanical engineering and problem-solving.
- Enthusiasm for learning new skills and adapting in a dynamic engineering environment.
- An interest in understanding how machines, engines, motorcycles, cars, and mechanical systems operate.
- The ability to learn technical skills in a highly safety-conscious environment.
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and have good analytical, problem solving and fault-finding skills.
- No previous experience is needed but effective interpersonal and team skills with a strong customer focus is desired.
