The Finance Administrator is responsible for managing the Group’s cash flow and long-term asset activities, ensuring effective cash management, accurate financial reporting and robust financial controls. The role supports the financial stability of the business through the management of liquidity, banking relationships, financial operations related to treasury, and accounting for capital assets. Working closely with colleagues across Finance and external partners, the postholder will provide high-quality financial information, adhere to internal policies and support statutory reporting and audit requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Treasury Management: Monitor daily cash positions and maintain sufficient liquidity to support operational requirements. Prepare short, medium and long term forecasts of cash receipts and payments to support financial planning and decision making. Produce treasury reports, forecasts of cash receipts and disbursements, liquidity analysis and debt schedules. Support budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning activities.
  • Banking and Financial Controls: Act as the primary contact for banking partnerships and treasury service providers. Handle bank account administration, including account maintenance, signatory controls and compliance requirements. Review banking covenants, ensuring ongoing compliance and timely reporting. Support the negotiation and administration of banking facilities and treasury services. Ensure treasury activities operate in accordance with internal controls, policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Treasury Operations: Handle daily treasury activities, including payments, collections and bank reconciliations. Support foreign currency payment processes, ensuring transactions are completed accurately and on time. Complete bank account verification and due diligence checks to support fraud prevention and payment controls. Seek opportunities to improve treasury processes, systems and automation.
  • Fixed Asset Accounting: Maintain accurate and up to date fixed asset records. Process asset additions, transfers and disposals. Calculate, review and post depreciation charges. Prepare fixed asset journals and related accounting entries. Complete monthly fixed asset and balance sheet reconciliations. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal fixed asset policies.
  • Financial Reporting and Audit Support: Contribute to half year and year-end financial reporting processes. Prepare treasury and fixed asset schedules, reconciliations and supporting documentation. Support internal and external audits by providing accurate and timely financial information. Work collaboratively with Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Financial Planning teams to ensure accurate reporting and financial control.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Essential: Experience gained through roles in cash management, financial operations, bookkeeping, or associated financial activities. Strong understanding of cash management, treasury operations and financial controls. Experience preparing financial reports, reconciliations and cash flow forecasts. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial analysis and reporting. Strong attention to detail and dedication to accuracy. Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines. Excellent communication and stakeholder leadership skills. Ability to work independently whilst building effective relationships across the business.
  • Desirable: Experience managing banking relationships and treasury facilities. Knowledge of foreign currency transactions and foreign exchange markets. Experience supporting external audits and statutory reporting. Experience with fixed asset accounting and depreciation processes. Understanding of financial systems, process improvement and automation.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Essential: Proven experience in treasury, finance, accounting or financial operations. Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, reconciliations and financial controls.
