Jerpoint Capital is a new hedge fund, founded by Seán Murphy, formerly a portfolio manager at Citadel. We launched in December 2025 with significant institutional capital and are growing quickly. This is our first dedicated engineering hire. You will set the architecture, write the foundational code, pick the vendors, and own what production looks like. The systems you build will be used by the investment team to make money. You will report directly to Seán. There is no legacy stack to nurse and no committee to convince. Modern AI tooling is part of how the team works day to day. What good engineering looks like at a hedge fund in 2026 is genuinely open, and you would be the person answering it for us.
What you'll build:
- The internal platform every application sits on.
- The tools the investment team uses every day.
- An AI and data layer across the firm.
- The integrations underneath that make all of it work.
Who you are:
- An exceptional engineer who wants to write code.
- You've built and shipped production systems at the calibre of Stripe, OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta, Google, Jane Street, Two Sigma, or Citadel.
- We care about the work, not the sector.
- Python and TypeScript are both first-language or close.
- You're comfortable owning everything from the infrastructure file to the React component, and you move between depth and breadth without losing momentum.
- You have taste, judgement, and the confidence to ship without a spec.
- Curiosity about investing is a plus. Finance experience is not required.
How we work:
- We work in person at our Berkeley Street office.
- Engineering sits with the investment team, because the work is faster and better that way.
- We're building a firm for the long term and want someone who wants to build it with us.
