Overview

My client, an innovative and highly regarded Health and Safety specialist business, is seeking a Fire & Compliance Consultant to join their team to meet growing demand. They are looking for a problem-solver who moves away from the typical "safety police" approach; instead, they want someone who can inspire others and whom clients are genuinely pleased to see.

Key Responsibilities

  • Specialist Consultancy: Deliver an outstanding H&S consultancy service, offering expert advice and guidance to help clients manage and reduce risks in the workplace.
  • Fire Safety & Auditing: Conduct site visits, inspections, and compliance audits, with a specific focus on carrying out Fire Risk Assessments.
  • Process Development: Develop and implement bespoke health and safety procedures that comply with current UK legislation and industry standards.
  • Culture & Awareness: Deliver health and safety awareness programmes to employees to promote a strong safety culture and demonstrate that safety systems are a business benefit.
  • Certification Support: Assist clients in achieving relevant health and safety certifications, such as ISO 45001.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Qualifications: Candidates must be H&S qualified and additionally hold a certificate in Fire Safety (e.g., NEBOSH or equivalent).
  • Expertise: Proven experience in carrying out Fire Risk Assessments is essential. A background in Facilities Management (FM) would be highly helpful.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and build strong client relationships.
  • Organisation: Ability to prioritise work, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and work autonomously to meet business needs.
  • Technical: Excellent working knowledge of MS packages including Word and Excel and Project.
  • Travel: A full UK driving licence is required, along with a willingness to travel throughout the South East.

Why this role?

This is an immediate opening for a professional who can work autonomously and flexibly to meet the needs of a growing, innovative business. If you can keep clients smiling while keeping them compliant, we want to hear from you!
