At Jered, Program Managers operate as "Mini General Managers," accountable for the overall success of their programs across scope, schedule, cost, quality, and customer satisfaction. As Program Manager, you will lead complex government and commercial programs from proposal through delivery and sustainment, serving as the primary customer interface while driving cross-functional execution across engineering, operations, procurement, contracts, finance, and manufacturing teams.
This role requires a strategic thinker with strong operational leadership skills, a deep understanding of government contracting, and the ability to successfully balance customer expectations, business objectives, and program performance. Success CriteriaSuccess in this role means consistently delivering programs that meet or exceed customer expectations while achieving business objectives related to scope, schedule, cost, quality, and profitability. The ideal candidate will effectively lead cross-functional teams, proactively manage program risks, maintain strong customer relationships, and drive accountability throughout the program lifecycle.
Success will also be demonstrated through the ability to apply government contracting requirements, execute disciplined program management practices, resolve challenges through data-driven decision making, support business growth through proposal and capture activities, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and program performance. Strong communication, leadership, and customer engagement skills will be critical to ensuring successful program outcomes and long-term customer partnerships.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of program management, project management, or engineering leadership experience, preferably within defense, government contracting, manufacturing, or engineered systems environments.
- Demonstrated success leading complex programs involving cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders.
- Experience managing program scope, schedule, cost, risk, and customer communications.
- Strong understanding of U.S. Government contracting practices, including FAR and DFARS requirements.
- Proficiency with program planning tools, project management systems, and performance reporting methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or other technical discipline.
- PMP, DAU, or equivalent project management certification.
- Experience supporting U.S. Navy customers, shipbuilding programs, or maritime systems.
- Experience within engineered-to-order manufacturing, fabrication, or machine shop environments.
- Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM), baseline control, business analytics, and program performance metrics.
- Experience transitioning development programs into production and sustainment environments.
