Marine Systems Technology is seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Compliance – QAHSE & Corporate Risk to lead our compliance, quality, health, safety, environmental, and corporate risk functions. This is a key leadership role with the opportunity to shape and embed an Integrated Management System (IMS), drive a culture of continuous improvement, and ensure regulatory compliance across a growing defence‑focused business. Working closely with senior leadership, you will influence business performance, operational excellence and long‑term strategic success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and continual improvement of the Integrated Management System (IMS).
  • Drive compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO/IEC 27001 standards.
  • Lead internal and external audits, certification activities, and regulatory compliance programmes.
  • Oversee quality assurance, corporate risk, and continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
  • Partner with commercial, supply chain and programme teams to ensure contractual and customer compliance requirements are met.
  • Lead, mentor and develop the QAHSE team while promoting a culture of quality, safety and accountability.

What We're Looking For

  • Significant experience leading Quality, Compliance, HSE or Corporate Risk functions within manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environments.
  • Proven experience implementing and managing ISO management systems.
  • Lead Auditor certification for ISO standards.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience driving business improvement, root cause analysis and corrective action programmes.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem‑solving capabilities.

Desirable Experience

  • Defence, Civil Nuclear or other highly regulated industry experience.
  • NEBOSH qualification or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of AQAP Allied Quality Assurance Standards.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor certification.
