We\’re Hiring: Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (QHSSE) Manager
Location: London (Hybrid)
About the Role
As a direct report to the VP of Global Operations, JERA Nex, the QHSSE Manager will lead and execute JERA Nex’s global QHSSE strategy. This is a hands‑on role where you will set standards, shape frameworks, and personally deliver key initiatives to enforce a strong safety culture across the business.
Key Task:
lead and execute QHSSE strategy and implementation across all JERA Nex activities.
Key Experience:
develop, establish, and maintain a QHSSE management framework covering development, construction, and operational projects, as well as corporate processes and ESG standards.
Profile:
Significant experience in the QHSSE function in renewables or similar industries, with the ability to work across cultures, geographies, and time zones in a fast‑paced environment.

What you will be doing
- Lead and deliver QHSSE initiatives from planning to execution, including policy development and implementation.
- Build and implement a QHSSE roadmap, including ISO14001 and ISO45001 accreditation.
- Design QHSSE systems that maintain compliance and international standards while enabling business flexibility and practical decision‑making.
- Identify and manage HSE risks across all JERA Nex activities, ensuring proactive mitigation.
- Enhance quality management by introducing systems and processes that are fit for purpose and aligned with business needs.
- Conduct HSE audits, facilitate HAZID sessions, and follow up on unwanted events.
- Lead regular internal and external QHSSE meetings and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Act as HSSE competent person for the UK office and support other global offices (e.g., Singapore, US).
- Perform HSSE risk assessments and implement actions such as travel procedures and ergonomic assessments.
- Drive crisis management, business continuity, and emergency response readiness.
- Deliver QHSSE training and awareness programs for staff, consultants, and visitors.
- Prepare QHSSE reports and presentations, and coordinate safety initiatives with the wider JERA Group.
- Promote best practice and build a strong safety culture through engaging initiatives, including interactive safety moments at meetings and town halls.
- Represent JERA Nex in QHSSE industry organizations, share insights, and implement new findings, including innovative methods such as AI‑driven weekly HSE updates.
