Hiring Manager for this role: Kristof Verlinden - COO

Deadline for applying: 29/06/2026

Why this role matters

The Head of the O&M Readiness and Global Asset Management is a member of the L2 Leadership and reports directly to the COO of JERA Nex bp, and it can be expected this function to also hold certain positions in project governance such as steerco or boards in the name of the company. The mandate is further described per the company DoA and its own governance. Flanking, and in coordination with, the partner role of O&M Operations, you’ll hold the responsibility of the strategic decisions on how O&M is to function in support of the company’s ambitions in the field of offshore wind. You’ll ensure the processes are created and maintained in alignment with the other business partners in the company. You’ll ensure an organization is designed to deliver the expected services while maintaining a cost-control attitude. O&M Readiness will be a partner for every project from earliest engagement in Bus-Dev or M&A, over the project development, Design and installation. During the operational phase support will be foreseen in strategic advice all the way through to lifetime extension, repowering or decommissioning. With responsibility for the OPEX and O&M Strategy and the development in the project phase of the required O&M Set‑ups and contracts, the Readiness SPOC embedded in a project will assure the needed O&M Resources are made available also to support such works as well as to act as an internal validator. The readiness organization sets up all for the correct intended functioning during the operational phase. The scope of O&M readiness activities is to be aligned further in the project organization as to assure the best allocation of services is provided but always in line with the handover process towards project execution. Acting as “owner” representative the Global Asset Management function will assure that the values and business are monitored and protected for projects in operation. This is equally for projects where the company holds operational responsibilities as well as for the projects where such is partially or fully foreseen by the partners. By validating a number of KPIs and assuring targeted reporting, visibility is created on the status of the operational assets to all internal and external stakeholders in close coordination with the finance responsibilities as well as further stakeholder management. There is a natural collaboration between both functionalities where strategic guidance is to support the projects portfolio management as well as where the project portfolio management will drive the strategic guidance. This balance should not only focus on the economic outcome but shall also guide the other values the company sees as crucial for its projects as they are HSSE, risk management, compliance and others. As part of their role, all Heads of Departments contribute to defining the organization’s vision and long‑term strategy based on a deep understanding of political, social, business, market and finance trends. They use their insights to lead and influence change at a strategic level across the organization. Guided by the company values, they are an inspirational role model for the entire organization.
