Key Role Responsibilities

  • Responsible for preparing daily, weekly and monthly market risk reports, including VaR, options and stress testing.
  • Key role in quantitative analysis of the risk profile of the company’s portfolio across commodities and products.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis as directed by the manager, generally contributing to the activities of the Market Risk and Middle Office functions.
  • Support digitalization and automation to smooth the flow of information across the business and to remove manual tasks.
  • Provide support within the risk team for IT systems development and testing.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by having the courage to challenge established processes.
  • This includes identifying inefficiencies in operations and opportunities to streamline and automate shared processes and interfaces.
  • Provide support within the market risk team for the development and validation of market risk models.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a global, hybrid working team.

Key Qualifications and Experience

  • Educational background in a quantitative discipline.
  • 2 to 4 years’ experience in commodities and energy markets.
  • Good knowledge of derivative products, and with familiarity in forward curve construction.
  • Prior exposure to energy markets (preferably Gas and LNG), with a foundational understanding of key drivers and market dynamics.
  • Preferably some hands-on experience in energy trading energy risk management within a trading environment.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skillset, with the ability to interpret data and support research driven insights.

Technical Requirement

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, VBA, Power BI, PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python for data extraction, manipulation/transformation and analysis.
  • Knowledge of Allegro / FEA / Topez is desirable.
