Job Description
Being a part of the LNG Operations team, the LNG Freight Operations provide commercial, logistical and administrative support to JERAGM and is responsible on a day-to-day basis for the timely implementation and execution of freight and commercial transactions, to ensure that all obligations arising from the LNG contract and charter party are met and carried out professionally.
The LNG Operations team work closely with traders to maximize the value‑add through the application of economics and optimisation skills for profitable operations, and minimise the profit leakage from the flexibility and optionality embedded in the LNG contracts and supply programs.
This incumbent will be expected to cover freight operations and be able to operate LNG ships under JERAGM’s long‑term and spot charters.
- Manage day-to-day LNG freight operations, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient execution of shipping and charter party obligations.
- Partner closely with Trading and Cargo teams to assess the operational feasibility of deals and optimise vessel scheduling decisions.
- Monitor vessel schedules, speeds, and performance, recommending fuel, heel, and bunker strategies to maximise efficiency.
- Act as the main point of contact for vessel owners, charterers, and key stakeholders, ensuring smooth coordination across all pre‑ and post‑deal activities.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual, and HSSE standards, including emissions requirements and risk management protocols.
- Provide clear operational instructions to vessels and proactively resolve issues to minimise delays and optimise utilisation.
- Manage freight‑related activities including invoicing, payments, claims, demurrage, and contract close‑out.
- Build strong relationships with external stakeholders (e.g. suppliers, inspectors, surveyors, regulators) while identifying opportunities to add commercial value through proactive problem‑solving and optimisation.
Qualifications
- Relevant experience: 2+ years in LNG shipping operations, with a good understanding of LNG vessels and their capabilities; trading and shipping exposure is advantageous.
- Technical skills: Familiar with time charterparties; advanced Microsoft Excel skills are beneficial.
- Communication & stakeholder management: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
